Custom OOAK Monster High Weeping Angels - Dr Who by redmermaidwerewolf Custom OOAK Monster High Weeping Angels - Dr Who by redmermaidwerewolf
Two Monster High Ghoulia dolls have been transformed into the Weeping Angels from the Dr Who episode "Blink".

The dolls have received full repaints. Their hair, dresses and wings were sculpted from airdrying clay. They retain their posability in the neck nd arm joints, but the legs and bases are fixed and stationary.

The "screaming" angel has facial details sculpted using Milliput epoxy resin.

Would you consider making one for sale? My daughter's best friend loves Monster High and Dr. Who.

Thank you! The Angels scared the heck out of me when I saw the episodes and I KNEW I had to make some. I find making something scary means it's not quite so scary. Not sure if that makes sense, but it usually works. This pair are fairly well behaved and haven't zapped any of my other dolls into the past ...yet! LOL!

Well, tell her not to worry too much! This pair haven't caused much havoc since I've had them. I made the naughty looking one second and she doesn't seem to have influenced the calmer one, so I think they are fairly harmless.

Eye drops don't harm though! LOL!

YOU did very well I seem these photos everywhere on Google images! How do you make the mouth open like that?

Thanks! I am surprised how much those pics have got around. I opened the mouth using a scalpel. There are extra pics on my Flickr . This and the next few photos.
[link]
When the cut was made, I heated the vinyl using a heat gun, and then opened the cut, gradually stretching it enough to get a pencil in. Once the mouth was the size I wanted, I dunked the whole thing in cold water to set the vinyl.
The teeth are made from polymer clay, baked and then set inside the head. The back of the mouth is made using airdry clay and modelled inside the mouth cavity, It was an interesting experiment, but I've used it again on my werewolf Clawd. It's effective.

Thank you! I decided I was going to open the mouth before I'd even considered what technique I'd be using. Sometimes I just sort of make it up as I go along, but that's haf the fun. I haven't totally ruined anything... YET! LOL!

Just found these... I have a Ghoulia-turned-Weeping-Angel as well (she looks very different form yours though).
They really look like stone, very well done!

I LOVE your Angel, those wings are FANTASTIC!! She's far more elegant than mine, and prettier too, but don't tell mine that! LOL!

I wanted to make mine just like the TV show as they scared the heck out of me! The clay I used dries with a lovely texture that if it isn't smoothed after drying, works brilliantly for the stone. Hubby and I are BIG fans of Dr Who!

Well mine was intended to be more of a spin-off, like all Monster High kids are kinda the opposite of their parents... So my angel is a shy, kind girl.
I don't think mine is prettier, nor uglier than yours. They're just two very different takes on the same idea, so you can't really compare them.
I'm a huge Whovian as well, I plan on making some doll-sized sonic screwdrivers in the near future (I know they have these tiny pocket LEDlight thingies but they're still too big for most dolls).

Your girl is gorgeous! I love seeing different takes on a theme, that's what is so amazing abut creating.

Tiny sonic screwdrivers would be fab! I'd love to see a Dr Who custom MH of the Doctor himself, Matt Smith's version is SO cool!
